On Friday 28th January 2022, Spring-UP Global Network donated school supplies to over 200 students at the Great James Academy in Chorkor to aid teaching and learning in the school that caters for orphans and street-connected children.
At the beginning of each academic year, some basic school students do not have adequate school supplies to aid their studies. This is why Spring-UP Global Network, an education-focused organization, donated exercise books, pencils, pens and other learning materials to students of the Great James Academy.
After sharing tips on ‘Self-Esteem and Proper Planning to excel in studies’, SUGN Volunteer Youth Mentors further engaged the children through the ‘Akensie’; a Ghanaian game designed for people to learn more about the history and culture of Ghana.
SUGN is not only focused on nurturing children who are motivated to excel in their studies, we are also interested in developing the leadership skills of our volunteers. This is why each SUGN project is led by a Volunteer Youth Mentor.
Lead Volunteer for this year’s Back to School Drive was SUGN Finance Lead, Gifty Asantewah Kankam, a passionate SUGN Youth Mentor who believes every child has the potential to be great in future.
We are grateful to all our donors. Because of you, over 200 children have enough supply of teaching and learning materials for one academic year.
Spring-UP Global Network is open to partnership with individuals, corporate organizations and agencies who aim to improve basic quality education in orphanages and hard-to-reach areas.
