BrainWave AfricaTech, through its flagship initiative, the AI Explorers Club, has partnered with Spring-UP Global Network to introduce Artificial Intelligence (AI) to children from underserved communities in Ghana. The initiative is giving young learners the chance to explore the world of technology and innovation at an early age.
Targeting students between 8 and 15 years, the program focuses on building digital literacy, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, essential tools for thriving in today’s tech-driven world. Through hands-on activities and interactive sessions, participants learn how AI works and how it can be applied to real-life challenges.

As part of this partnership, 19 students from schools hosting libraries under Spring-UP’s iRead iLead Campaign were selected for Cohort 4 and Cohort 5 of the AI Explorers Club. These learners, from the Ablekuma North Municipal and Korle Klottey Municipalities, have already experienced practical AI training, sparking curiosity and creativity.

This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to bridging the digital divide and ensuring that children in marginalised communities are not left behind in the global technology revolution. By combining Spring-UP’s literacy-focused initiatives with BrainWave AfricaTech’s expertise in AI education, the program is creating a powerful pathway for future innovators.

Partnerships like this reinforce Spring-UP Global Network’s mission to transform learning outcomes in underserved schools by providing libraries, literacy programs, STEM education, mentorship, and community engagement, empowering learners to thrive and creating pathways for lifelong educational success. By integrating AI education into our work, we are scaling impact beyond literacy to future-ready skills.
Through the AI Explorers Club, more children are gaining exposure to technology and innovation, inspiring them to dream big and embrace digital tools as catalysts for change. This aligns with our vision: A Ghana where every child, regardless of location or circumstance, has equal access to literacy and learning opportunities.
